THE BARBADOS LANDSHIP has docked at the Barbados Museum for a three-month exhibition that showcases the historical voyage of the cultural institution.
According to director of the museum Dr Alissandra Cummins, the exhibition represents “a special moment in the museum’s history, in Barbados’ history and in the history of the Landship”.
In her remarks at the official opening of the exhibition last week, Cummins said the project, which was two years in the making, highlighted the development and performance of the 152-year-old organisation.
Retired and present members of the Landship were among the audience and speaker after speaker paid tribute to their dedication and service throughout the years. Landship patron Margaret Williams described the organisation as a great symbol, and an icon of Barbados.
