HE KEPT BARBADOS above water.
Now Darian King is looking to go Down Under.
Barbados’ top-ranked tennis pro has his eyes on another Grand Slam, revealing that he intends to appear in at least three more tournaments this year in hopes of qualifying for January’s Australian Open.
King is slated to leave this Sunday to play in Venezuela, El Salvador and Guatemala in an attempt to improve his current world ranking from 240 to the cut-off mark of around 220 for the qualifying draw.
“I will just need a good result or two to give me a chance of making it because my ranking is just outside the cut, so I will do one more tour before the offseason starts so I can hopefully make the cut,” said the 23-year-old. (JM)
