BARBADOS PRIDE captain Kraigg Brathwaite says it is important for professional players to take time to talk to young cricketers.
He was speaking as several players visited St Stephen’s Primary and Wesley Hall Junior schools today.
“This is a good experience for myself as a person. I think it is important for us as professional cricketers for Barbados to go out there and give encouraging words to the youngsters who are aspiring to play the same cricket that I play,” he said.
Brathwaite attended Erdiston Primary and Combermere Schools and recently took a six-wicket haul in a losing effort for the West Indies in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka.
However he cautioned fans he will be looking to concentrate on his batting and his leadership skills in the upcoming Regional Four-Day tournament.
Barbados Pride will take on the Jamaica Scorpions in their first WICB Professional Cricket League match from November 6 to 9 at Kensington Oval. (PG)
