PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart today signed on the dotted line for a US$170 million loan from Export-Import Bank of China.  The loan will go toward the redevelopment of Sam Lord’s Castle into a five star hotel under the Wyndham brand.

Speaking from Government Headquarters, Stuart said there were many benefits to be gained from this new development, namely the addition of 100 vacation ownership units and 350 guest rooms.

He added that it would also cater to couples as well as families who travel as a group in the summer.

“This in itself will significantly help our tourism product in the slower summer months as Barbados is striving to become a true year round destination and not just a winter destination, as it is traditionally known,” Stuart said. (LK)
