CHARGERS are the new kings of the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 men’s volleyball league.
They predictably clinched the title when the action continued on Sunday at Oldbury, St Philip.
Needing just one point to take the crown from Flow Deacons, Chargers outlasted Cawmere 29-31, 25-14, 18-25, 25-19, 15-11. That victory carried Chargers to 47 points from nine wins.
Ironically, the young Chargers were tested by Cawmere minus Shawn Simpson, who sat out the match with an injury, and former Chargers’ hitter Mark Lewis, who did not enter the match for his new team Cawmere until the third set. (KB)
