IF SOME RESIDENTS of the water-stricken districts in the North have their way, they will be taking the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to court.
Speaking at Thursday’s Barbados Labour Party (BLP) community meeting at the Boscobel Community Centre, Collene Badal explained that over the last three months, she had been billed over $500 by the Barbados Water Authority (BWA), despite limited access to any water.
“I have my mother’s water bill from September which was $234 in September, October was $140 and now this month is $140 with a disconnection notice. Tell them disconnect it!” the Boscobel, St Peter resident said.
Badal explained that she had paid the first two bills as she did not want the service disconnected by the utility company, however, after the last bill she refused to pay any more money without getting any water. (AD)
