AMERICA’S GOSPEL GREAT Kurt Carr has touched down on Barbadian soil for a “letting-go and letting God have his way” Breakthru concert today.

Carr, known for the popular self-penned gospel hit We Lift Our Hands In The Sanctuary, is the headliner for the event at the Wildey Gymnasium. He said the song was never meant to be recorded as it was just a warm-up for his group’s voices.

He told the Sunday Sun that many of his hits, such as I’ve Seen Him Do It and I Almost Let Go, among others, were merely past situations that he grew from and noted them in song.

“Someone asked why I don’t do an album every year because usually I do them every five years. And I tell them I have to live the songs first and I think that is why they touch people’s heart – because they aren’t just words, but testimonies,” he explained.

As for the future, Carr said that he would be working on a new album, a Christmas movie next year and a Broadway Show as well.
