HEROES in their own right.
That was the sentiment expressed yesterday by two British visitors, Dana Chowdhry and Jena Elhusainie, to four young men who came to their rescue on Monday night after they were attacked on the Richard Haynes Boardwalk in Hastings, Christ Church.
KevinPayne, Joseph Grazette, Nico Hudson and Jabari Worrell, employees at Naru’s Restaurant, came to their rescue without thinking twice, saving them from serious harm or even death.
“We are extremely thankful to all who came to our assistance, especially Kevin. He has a heart of gold,” said Chowdhry.
In the wake of the unfortunate incident, Naru’s owners, Barry and Lisa Taylor, are calling for lights to be placed along the stretch of boardwalk.
“When you are out there, it is pitch black. You literally cannot see anything in the way until it is right in front of you. There have been too many attacks along this boardwalk, and I would hate to think that something drastic has to be done before action is taken,” she said.
