A CAVITY SEARCH and two nights of imprisonment have left one Barbadian woman traumatised and calling for human rights action after her first visit to Canada turned into a nightmare.
Describing her ordeal at the hands of Canadian immigration and law enforcement, the woman who wished to remain anonymous said that she had travelled to Canada in September with her mother, who was scheduled to get married.
While clearing immigration at the Toronto Pearson International Airport, the woman claimed that not only was she refused entry, but detained, questioned, stripped and cavity searched without just reason.
With a shaky voice, her distraught mother told the SATURDAY SUN the story of how her daughter, now 40 years old, was still being judged for things she did 20 years ago in her youth.
