Virus fears spreading

FEAR OF THE Zika virus is spreading much faster than the virus itself.

Even so, seven Barbadians, including three pregnant women, have been diagnosed with the dreaded virus, which is under investigation for being responsible for abnormal births.

The Ministry of Health is not sitting idle, however. A team of public health officers was spotted in Sargeant Village, Christ Church, fogging the area in an effort to kill adult mosquitoes in bushy areas and around homes.

It was part of an all-out attack, which will also include prosecution of mosquito breeders, and pressing into action of churches, community groups, hotels and householders.
