Water war brewing

THERE IS A water war brewing in the easternmost parish.

On one side are farmers who are claiming their main water source is being dammed for recreational use; on the other is a land owner who says his full pond is the result of heavy rains at the end of last year and in the middle is the ancient Three Houses Spring.

And neither side appears to be budging.

Three Houses Spring, which is governed by an 18th century piece of legislation winds its way for about two kilometres passing through communities like Golden Grove and Wiltshire’s before ending at Brown’s Pond, River, St Philip.
