THE CHRIST-CHURCH BASED based Miami Dolphins community group made its third annual consecutive monetary donation to the Dear Christine charity during a presentation last week.
The funds were presented by the group’s public relations officer Juliette Toppin-Worrell and president Carlyle Dottin to administrative secretary at the Nation Publishing Co. Limited, Huldah Boucher, who received the funds on behalf of the charity.
The Miami Dolphins is comprised of a group of 42 people who meet at 7 a.m. daily at “Miami Beach” in Enterprise, Christ Church. They hold fundraising efforts aimed at helping the less fortunate. Funds are raised through personal donations and primarily through an annual sponsored swim which takes place during the Oistins Fish Festival.
Both Toppin-Worrell and Dottin said they were pleased to present proceeds to the work of Dear Christine in their bid to help those in need.
The group’s most recent donations were to the Salvation Army during the Christmas season, the HIV/AIDS Food Bank, and a number of fire victims from the Christ Church and St Philip areas.
Since starting the sponsored swim five years ago, the Miami Dolphins, formed 12 years ago, have made donations to the tune of $4 000.
