POSSIBLE STRIKE ACTION by public service vehicle operators has been averted.
And all the players in the transport industry have agreed to a number of measures as they prepare to hold another round of discussions at the end of next week.
Yesterday, Transport Minister Michael Lashley chaired a hastily called meeting of representatives from the Association of Public Transport Operators (APTO), the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) with their attorney Letitia Bourne, officials from the Transport Authority and general secretary of the National Union of Public Workers, Roslyn Smith, after the public service vehicle operators threatened strike action to coincide with the first two days of the third term, scheduled to begin next week.
