Warrens ruin Lakers’ chances

PAN AMERICAN International Insurance Warrens just had to stick it to their crosstown rivals again.

Lumber Company Lakers’ play-off hopes are all but dead, and at the hands of two former Lakers, as Zahir Motara and Jamar King drilled four huge treys down the stretch of Sunday’s shocking 83-80 comeback in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League.

The last-second defeat was Lakers’ second straight at Barbados Community College, dropping them a half-game behind the idle Warriors for the fourth and final postseason berth with just one game left.

It also means Lakers no longer control their own destiny, as they have to beat Patriots and then hope Warriors lose both their remaining games against the same Warrens and Patriots to ensure a play-off spot. (JM)
