DUMBFOUNDED!

That was how former president of the Barbados Football Association (BFA), Ronald Jones, reacted yesterday, after the world of football was rocked by a number of arrests and indictments in the United States and the home of football, Switzerland.

“I’m really not in a position to comment on the actions of anyone individually. I won’t condemn anyone without a trial. But from what I see so far, I’m really shocked. I’m flabbergasted at the level of corruption being claimed by the persons investigating the matter,” he told NATIONSPORT.

Jones, who ran the BFA from 1989 to 2012, said he would have nothing to say, however, about the possible actions of local officials as it relates to the controversy surrounding previous World Cup bids (for 2018 and 2022) and claims of bribes being offered during the process.
