PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart said he “was hit for six” when he heard that murder accused were being granted bail.

He said that “in small, highly personalised society, there is something blood curdling about knowing that somebody slaughtered somebody in your community and that just a few months later you go into the supermarket and you run into them. That is a challenge we have to face,” said Prime Minister Stuart during  a two-and-a-half-hour press conference luncheon yesterday at Ilaro Court.

It was the first time Stuart sat down with the media in a formal setting and fielded a wide range of questions, from the Cahill controversy, to the judiciary, to the serious water issues being experienced, especially in rural Barbados. (JS)
