THE BROKEN TRIDENT flew proudly at the South Sound Squash Club on Saturday after Barbados’ girls retained their title at the Caribbean Junior Squash Championships in the Cayman Islands.
Spearheaded by 16-year-old captain Amanda Haywood, the Bajans defeated Guyana 3-2 to claim their 14th regional title.
Barbados’ boys clinched the bronze medal with a 4-1 win over the OECS.
With Guyana winning the boys’ division and capturing second place among the girls, they were crowned the overall champions for the 12th successive year with Barbados second.(HG/PR)
