WHO WILL BE the Starcom Network People's Monarch 2016 and walk away with the cash prize?

Will it be TC, a former Sweet Soca and Party Monarch winner who has never won a People's Monarch?

Or will it be Damian Marvay? In his second year on the soca scene he has already made a name for himself with his sweet, infectious tunes and has bagged the inaugural Barbados Today Soca champion trophy. He also placed second in the Sweet Soca competition on Sunday at Bushy Park.

The winner will be revealed today at 2:30 p.m. at Starcom Network’s Fontabelle. St Michael location.

There will be a new monarch this year as defending monarch Red Plastic Bag didn't make it to the eight for the quarterfinals.

While the prize has been reduced from $25 000 to $15 000, from the quarterfinals it has been a ding-dong battle with Marvay's Know The Face, Stiffy's Tek Off Something, TC's De People Place and Natahlee's Got My Bag making it to the semi-finals on Monday and Tuesday.

Up first were Stiffy and TC on Monday, and by the votes were tallied on Tuesday morning, TC had 57 per cent to Stiffy's 43 per cent.

Tuesday's voting was Marvay versus Natahlee

Marvay's fans came through and he garnered 70 per cent of the vote to Natahlee's 30 per cent.

Yesterday was the grand finale with the winner being announced today.
