CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS specialist at the Barbados Water Authority Joy-Ann Haigh is urging Barbadians to lend a helping hand to the grieving family of Melissa Eastmond.
Eastmond, 27, an employee of the Alcar Cleaning Enterprises and mother of three, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, after she told her mother she was going to take a rest.
Haigh said it was an unfortunate situation, especially that Eastmond was the sole money-earner in the house.
“The water has been off for a while and when we looked at the account Melissa had just entered into a payment agreement with the BWA on her mother’s behalf a couple weeks ago. So the BWA, thanks to the chairman, has agreed to write off that bill to ease the family during this difficult time,” said Haigh at the family’s residence at Work Hall, St Philip, yesterday morning.
