Popular Panache party-perfect

THE LUCKY ONES got a chance to enjoy the finesse that was Panache, the all-inclusive premium event last Sunday at Sweetfield Manor, Brittons Hill, St Michael.

From around 5 p.m. till just after 10 p.m. a crowd of mature people chatted, mixed and mingled and danced the night away in a perfect setting.

It was truly a “big people party” with DJ Alvin Soca Superman Toppin keeping the vibe and pace just right for those looking to have a good time.

The event catered to a limited number of people so that those present could experience an occasion like none other.

“We want people to be comfortable and not have be juggling for space. We want them to party freely,” said organiser of the event Faye Wharton-Parris.

Although the demand for the event was “overwhelming”, she said they made a deliberate decision to not to surpass 350 patrons.

“I can’t ever see us doing this event in a mass-based format. It will always be an exclusive event where you cap the numbers. You didn’t get in this year, sorry maybe you’ll get in next year.

“We had people who wanted tickets today but it wouldn’t be fair to people who secured tickets months ago to now come to the event and be inconvenienced because we increased that numbers.”

The company’s aim is to stage “quality events”.

“I want to make sure our guests our happy. We work hard to ensure that when people come to something under the name of Premier Event Services it is well done and they go away feeling really good.”

The company primarily does events for other people but decided to start doing their own thing. They have done three of their own events so far for the year.

“We had never gone into Crop Over. But we had people saying there are hundreds of events for the young but what about us. They don’t want to go to a party where their children will be. They want to go to a big people party and have a great time.”

Wharton-Parris said she was extremely pleased with the way people patronised the event.

“We have seen a lot of people that were here last year but what is also encouraging is that we are seeing a number of new faces. It rained last year and people didn’t move. People didn’t want to leave and asked if we were doing it again this year.”

It was no different this year. The rain came but in no way did it put a damper on the party. People remained on the dance floor while some sought refuge under the large tent. But no one left.

Will there be a Panache or a similar party later this year for Independence?

“For Independence we have been working with members of various Barbadian overseas associations. We are working with Tampa Bay, in Florida. We are organising their transportation, bus tours and tickets to specialty events.

“We will be staging For the Good Times party. We are now reaching out to other associations in Canada, United States and Britain. (TTY)
