FROM THE BEGINNING of the year, work has been ongoing to lay new water mains in several areas of St Joseph to assist with the water shortage affecting that parish.
That work continued yesterday when a team from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) laid some mains at Blackmans, temporarily making the road leading to Parris Hill impassable.
A worker on the job said this project should be completed by today since they were laying five lengths of eight-inch mains and two “cocks” to shut off water. The mains will connect to Horse Hill, also in St Joseph, as well as part of St Andrew and a portion of St Thomas. (LK)
