A CANADIAN NATIONAL on fraud charges totalling nearly $27 000 was remanded to prison yesterday when she appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Olivia Hopecraft-Seto, 26, of No. 86 Livingstone Avenue Ontario, appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick and was represented by attorney Naomi Lynton.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant Neville Watson objected to the woman’s bail, saying she had no ties to Barbados and was on a four-day visit (September 19-22) that ended the day the allegations arose.

He said the five matters involved more than one jurisdiction and there was a fear that if Hopcraft-Seto was granted bail she would leave the island. (TKS)
