A ST PHILIP FARMER is counting his losses following an attack on his birds by stray dogs.

Deonarine Sookhoo was forced to incinerate 64 ducks and ducklings at his Ruby farm and expects to lose around 20 more. His losses could amount to about $4 000.

The distressing episode unfolded last Saturday night and Sookhoo awoke to the horrific sight of his savaged ducks on Sunday morning.

“I went to the farm to feed them but a lot wasn’t coming out or keeping noise so I knew something was wrong. When I started walking around the pens I saw them,” he said. (CA)
