Storm warning discontinued

EFFECTIVE 10 P.M. THE Barbados Meteorological Services has discontinued the tropical storm warning for Barbados.

At 8 p.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Matthew was located near latitude 13.9 north longitude 62.4 west or about 205 miles (331km) west-northwest of Barbados.

Matthew is moving toward the west near 15 mph and maximum sustained winds are near 65mph with higher gusts. Storm force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335km) primarily to the north-east of the centre.

Estimated minimum central pressure is 1004mb (29.65 inches). Some occasional showers and a few isolated thunderstorms are still possible throughout the night as the system continues to track westward away from Barbados.

This will be the final bulletin issued on this system by the Barbados Meteorological Services for Barbados.
