Ugly welcome sours trial stint

PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL isn’t all money and fame.

Just ask Akeel Applewaithe and Antone Greaves.

The two talented Bajan 16-year-olds experienced the not so glamorous side of pro sports after their room was vandalised while they were trying out with football club Dundee in Scotland.

Chairman of the Barbados Football Association’s technical committee, Adrian Donovan, broke the news yesterday after the boys returned to their lodging to find the room ransacked.

Donovan said the boys came back to their accommodation on the club premises and saw their beds destroyed and filled with urine and saliva. (JM)
