STUDENTS FROM secondary schools were given a history lesson yesterday in the struggle of oppressed people and how their freedom was realised.
The man delivering the lesson was American actor and social activist Danny Glover, who is in Barbados championing the Cuban fight for justice.
During his address at the Barbados Workers’ Union headquarters at Solidarity House, Glover urged the students to learn about and appreciate the history of the struggle of oppressed people in the world, and how their local and regional predecessors contributed to the battle of liberation.
“History is critical for you to understand your relationship in the arc of justice. You need to know these histories and how you are connected to them,” he said. (SB)
