WEDDING PLANS for Edward Watson and girlfriend Joanna Astley were suddenly halted after his shooting death yesterday.

Astley, his girlfriend for the past three years, will now have to come to grips with burying her partner ‘Eddie’ and raising their seven-month-old daughter Keturah Watson by herself.

Forty-eight-year old, Dominican born Watson was working at a private residence at Golden Plover Road, Inch Marlow, Christ Church yesterday and sometime between 1:30 pm and 1:45 pm, neighbours heard a number of loud explosions.

Shortly after, Watson was discovered lying motionless in the patio of the house. He subsequently died at the scene.

This morning when a NATION team visted the Reece Road #3, Brittons Hill home she and Eddie shared, Astley was too overcome with grief to speak.

However, several family friends had gathered at the house to offer support. Roseann Breen described the deceased as a very friendly man who would easily make friends anywhere he went.

Meanwhile, police have appealed for assistance. Anyone who can provide any information related to these investigations is asked to contact the Police Emergency at telephone number “ 211”, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), the District ‘A’ Police Station at 4307246, 4307242, or the nearest police station.  (LK/PR)
