A SENIOR LAWMAN HAS decried the practice of posting videos of fatal accidents and death scenes on social media.
Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Erwin Boyce has hinted that a policy could be in the works with regard to this practice.
Boyce was speaking during the opening session of a two-day Death Notification Course, hosted by Impact Justice, in association with the Calgary Police Service, at the Accra Beach Hotel yesterday.
Stressing that notifying the next of kin about the death of a loved one was “extremely difficult for the survivor and for the police officer”, Boyce said what was said to the family was just as important as how a lawman managed an investigation. (HLE)
