NSC notch 9th straight win

THE National Sports Council (NSC) girls have extended their winning streak.

With an impressive 4-1 victory against ESFC Unity Stars they walked away with their ninth successive win, when the Barbados Football Association’s Women’s League continued at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex on Sunday.

Kimberly Ellis couldn’t wait to get the show started for NSC, sending an early goal between the sticks in the fifth minute.

Patrina Brathwaite sustained the pressure on the opposition by adding two goals.

Brathwaite scored her first in the 23rd minute before a dry period, where neither team was able to score, but she managed to follow through in the 60th minute with her second goal.

Though three goals down, Unity Stars found a way to set up a goal that was converted by Rianna Cyrus in the 89 th minute.

NSC lived up to their supporters’ expectations with Tiana Hackett sending the fourth goal into the net just as the final whistle was blown.

UWI Blackbirds soared above the Technique with 2-0 win.

Shamanda Carter was the pilot of this operation, scoring both goals in the 57th and 90th minutes.

In the evening’s other match, Pinelands and Mavericks played to a 1-1 draw. Tiana Bynoe of Pinelands scored in the 28th minute while Felicia Jarvis of Mavericks netted in the 45th. (RG)
