A FAMILY OF THREE are without a home after fire destroyed their home in Vault Road, St Thomas, around 12:30 p.m. yesterday.
Charlene Clarke, her boyfriend Adrian Boyce and their three-month-old baby daughter Ciara Boyce lived in the house.
“I had a bath and then went to put on some oil on the stove to make something for breakfast. I then told myself I would go put on my clothes. While putting on my clothes I heard this popping sound and when I came to the kitchen, the whole kitchen was on fire.
“I went to the pipe and full a bucket of water and throw it on the fire. but by then the roof had already caught fire, so I just grabbed a few of my daughter’s clothes and left,” Clarke said.
Cynthia Forde, parliamentary representative for St Thomas, was on the scene and said she would try to offer as much assistance as possible.
“I have spoken to the Minister of Social Care to see what assistance can be offered because when you lose your home you lose everything. She still has a young baby to feed,” Forde said. (ML)
