BWA denial

THE BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY (BWA) has denied there is any raw sewage escaping onto the streets on the south coast.

Furthermore, the BWA’s general manager Dr John Mwansa has pointed an accusing finger at culprits for removing the manholes on the system and creating some of the problems being experienced in that area. His comments contradict reports from people calling on radio and to the SATURDAY SUN and reporting having seen excrement flowing from the sewerage well situated at the bottom of Rendezvous Hill yesterday, causing a major stink.

while no faeces was visible when a team from the SATURDAY SUN visited the area just after midday, the team was greeted by a pungent, horrible odour.

The strong smell could be detected up to Worthing, Christ Church, a short distance away from the police station. (RB)
