FORMER PRINCIPAL of Graydon Sealy Secondary School Matthew Farley was remembered as a strict and loving individual by those paying their last respects to him yesterday.

Fifth form student Joellyn Blair, who was overcome with emotion, said she would “dearly missed” her former principal.

“He was a great principal. He was the only one who settled me down when I was giving trouble at school. Despite his strictness he was loving and in times of need he was always there, if you gave trouble or not. He was the best headteacher I ever met since I cameto Graydon Sealy in 2012,” she said.

Blair added: “I remember I used to be in his office every day for misbehaving and he used to flog me, but because of him I have changed. Now that he has passed, Graydon Sealy would never be the same and we truly miss him.”

Principal Beverley Bancroft described her predecessor as “a no-nonsense person who believed in discipline and had the best interest of the children at heart”.

Farley will be buried today after a service at Abundant Life Assembly at 10 a.m. (SB)
