THE LONG CHRISTMAS holiday has sparked mixed views from the public.  

This year, December 25 fell on a Sunday, and as a result the next two days were also observed as bank holidays. 

On those days, ‘Sorry We’re Closed’ signs appeared along popular streets in Bridgetown, transforming it into a “ghost town”.  

Sixteen ships were expected to dock in Barbados, bringing 45 000 visitors to the island between Sunday and Wednesday. (LT)
