THE HEADLINERS CALYPSO TENT will not be pitching this year.
Tent manager MRBLOOD broke the news yesterday evening, while paying tribute to one of the founding members of the tent Adrian Boo Husbands. Boo passed away at his Chimborazo, St Joseph home early yesterday morning. He was 54.
MRBLOOD, who said Boo always supported him and even returned as co-manager after retirement, said Boo called him two days ago to let him know that he “was backing my decision 100 per cent when I decided that we should not bring the Headliners tent this year”.
Several of the more popular faces like Red Plastic Bag, TC, Natahlee, Li’l Rick, iWeb and Mikey left to join other tents over time, and Headliners had slipped in popularity with fans, but it was not clear what informed the decision not to open this year.
MRBLOOD did not say what and if any provisions have been to accommodate him or other members of the tent who may want to participate in this year’s Sweetest Summer Festival. (YB)
