THE PROBLEMS AT COMBERMERE are back, says head of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), Mary Redman.
Classes at the school resumed this month following weeks of industrial cleaning ordered by the Ministry of Education to rectify issues stemming from long-running odour complaints.
But Redman told the DAILY NATION yesterday that since the start of the term, both teachers and students had contacted her to report that odours and symptoms of illnesses similar to last term had returned.
“The reality is that consistently I have received reports from teachers and I understand that students have also reported that since school has reopened, there have been smells and persons have been feeling ill,” she said. (AD)
