ICC AMERICAS pulled off a resounding victory in the WICB Regional Super50 cricket competition yesterday, crushing Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) Marooners by 72 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Winning the toss and electing to bat at the Windward Club ground in St Philip, ICC Americas posted a challenging 265 in 50 overs, their highest total of the tournament.

In response, and facing a revised target of 260 from 48 overs after several rain interruptions, Marooners limped to 187 all out in 43.3 overs.

It was the ICC Americas’ first win in six matches and the fifth defeat in seven outings for the Marooners, ending their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals. (AH)
