King upsets Tomic

BARBADOS’ NO. 1 TENNIS PLAYER Darian King has earned his biggest victory to date.

Earlier today, King, who is ranked 140 in the world, pulled off the upset over No. 32 Bernard Tomic of Australia.

Playing in the first round of the Memphis Open on Stadium Court, King beat Tomic, the No. 5 seed, 6-4, 6-4.

It is King’s first win at an ATP250 event. He successully navigated the qualifying rounds to reach the main draw. (BN)
