Business sector offers Govt advice

ACROSS BUSINESS AND professional sectors in Barbados, there is a general feeling of despair about the country’s economic position.

But there are also some solutions being placed on the table.

At least one former prominent businessman is calling on Government to go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“Barbados needs to engage in an IMF programme now to restore our foreign exchange reserves, build confidence in the business community and the international investment community and to access funding for urgent infrastructure and operating expenditures,” chairman emeritus of accounting firm Ernst and Young (Caribbean), Peter Boos said.
