GET OUT OF THE hotel business; cut the subsidy to Caves of Barbados; look to trim the Barbados Defence Force; and reconstruct the Civil Service.
Furthermore, stay far from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This is the advice to Government from director of the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) at the University of the West Indies, Dr Don Marshall, as the island grapples with a struggling economy.
Marshall told the DAILY NATION: “Right now, we should be getting out of the hotel business. We shouldn’t be subsiding Caves of Barbados, and do we need a large defence force?” (HLE)
