THE BARBADOS FERTILITY CENTRE (BFC) has been hailed as a pioneer of medical tourism and a leader in the area of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) in the region.
So said Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy, who argued that the centre’s success proved medical tourism was a niche from which Barbados could benefit, while at the same time earn foreign capital.
He also encouraged others to follow the lead of founders Dr Juliet Skinner and Anna Hosford to expand upon the practice.
Sealy’s comments came at a cocktail reception to celebrate the centre’s 15th anniversary at its office at Seaston House, Hastings, Christ Church, on Wednesday evening. (SDB Media)
