IN SPITE of losing by 15 goals, Newbury All Stars played their best game in two netball first division seasons when they met Guardian Group Pride of Villa on Friday night at the Netball Stadium.

The ever-smiling goal attack Charlene Jordan unveiled her shooting skills to score a game-high 29 goals from 36 attempts for Newbury, but Villa’s greater experience was telling as they won 56-41.

While Newbury can blame their poor rebounding at the offensive and defensive ends, their fate was probably sealed in the second quarter when Villa, who trailed 10-12 at the end of the first quarter, made some key changes.

They benched former Newbury shooter Khadija Domingo and moved Barbados player Faye Agard (formerly Sealy) from goalkeeper to goal-shooter, where she teamed with goal attack Latonia Blackman.
