St Michael South ‘deserves better’

AFTER CANVASSING in his hometown for the past 11 months, Kirk Humphrey is sure of one thing, and it’s that St Michael South is crying out for representation.

The new candidate for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) said yesterday it was a pity the way constituents had been treated over the years since they had been represented by two Prime Ministers. He said he planned to put people above politics to start his tenure in public life.

Humphrey made the comments in the heart of the constituency at Jessamine Avenue, Bayland, St Michael, as the BLP continued its Rubbing Shoulders initiative yesterday.

Humphrey, a first-timer at the polls whenever a general election is called, will be getting his feet wet in a race against Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, but said yesterday he had already noticed a serious lack of representation from the country’s leader. (BA)
