QEH fall mum feels let down

NATALIE BRATHWAITE may be out of her labour pains but the agony she felt following an elevator drop some months ago continues.

Thirty-year-old Brathwaite, 30 weeks pregnant, was one of several people in a Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) lift in February when it plunged from the B floor to the ground. 

She sought legal counsel but since then said she received a letter from the QEH which refused to take liability for the incident. 

The hospital’s decision was confirmed by chief executive officer Dr Dexter James who said he stood by what was in the letter. (TG)
