AN ILLEGAL skating rink and other obstacles on its lands at Graeme Hall, Christ Church, were destroyed by the Ministry of Agriculture yesterday.

The ministry said that the structures were discovered a few weeks ago when officials were touring the lands at Graeme Hall.

However, Paul Wilson, who was part of a group of skateboarders, BMXers and roller bladers, who used the skating rink, said they had actually been there for seven years.

“We were looking for a safe and secure area where we could skateboard and one day a friend of mine told me about this spot. We went and looked at it and realised that it was being used as a dump. We cleaned it up and started to build and erect obstacles and structures,” he pointed out, adding that over time they built concrete structures as well. (MB)
