Schoolboys stun Pine

THE PLAYOFFS? Nope, Orange 3 Pinelands have found themselves in trouble instead.

The champs are definitely in danger of missing the postseason as Kiserian Adams had 13 of his career-high 31 points in the fourth quarter, including NexGen Tridents’ last seven points of Saturday’s 94-90 upset in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League.

The win was the first of the season at the Barbados Community College for the luckless schoolboys, who snapped a telling 14-game losing streak that included at least four near misses.

More importantly, the result spelled trouble for a suddenly reeling Pine side (9-6) who are now just a half-game ahead of Warriors (8-6) for the final playoff spot after losing six of their last ten games. (JM)
