Edwin steals De Big Show

EDWIN IS BACK.

The talented and versatile Edwin Yearwood put in two strong performances on Sunday night when the First Citizens/Digicel Big Show faced the judges at the Sea Rocks Dome in Maxwell, Christ Church.

It is difficult to see how he can be excluded from the list of semi-finalists at this stage, even with two other tents and many other calypsonians still to be judged.

By the end of the first half when he had completed Beggar, it was obvious he was “in the running” and would have scored heavily for lyrics and melody.

His plea to “save my country” and for all of us “to take responsibility”, given that we have worked on building it block by block, resonated with the crowd.

Edwin, who has not been in the Pic-O-de-Crop competition for 20 years, showed he was a class act with his rendition of this song.
