Abed blasts BWU action

THE RIPPLE EFFECTS of yesterday’s industrial action at the Barbados Port Inc has severely hampered business in Barbados.

Barbados Chamber of Commerce president Eddy Abed laid into the Barbados Workers’ Union’s (BWU) actions yesterday following the inability of custom brokers and businesses to benefit from Port activity. eddy-abed

Furthermore, Abed has deemed the industrial action as “inappropriate” and has also called for the unions to take a look at their way of operating as it was affecting the country.

“This to me sounds like you’re throwing the baby out with the bath water. I cannot accept that any right-thinking citizen of this country would want to hurt themselves to that point,” Abed said yesterday during a phone interview. (GE)
