A WOMAN seeking to become only the third female to be elected to the Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) board of management feels the time has come to have more involvement “in the administration of the game from the fairer sex.

Evril “Betty” Lewis-Browne, one of 12 candidates vying for five positions as directors when the BCA holds its 15th special meeting of members on Thursday, believes her diverse skills and background in marketing, communications, business development, relationship management and branding makes her a suitable option.

A marketing specialist with 31 years’ experience in the tourism industry, Lewis-Browne is seeking to follow in the footsteps of Patricia Greenidge and Anthea Ishmael, the only females to sit on the BCA board.

“I believe very strongly that we’re at a point where there is a place on the board for a female presence and not just as a secretary to take notes,” Lewis-Browne told NATIONSPORT. (HG)
