THE ST GEORGE NORTH District Emergency Organisation (DEO), in partnership with the Barbados Statistical Service, will conduct a Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (DANA) training and simulation exercise, tomorrow, Saturday, August 12.

It will be held at the Valley Resource Centre, Glebe, St George, from 9 a.m. when Director of the Department of Emergency Management, Kerry Hinds, will deliver the opening remarks.

The focus of this exercise is to facilitate additional training and testing of the Damage Assessor’s knowledge in the DANA process, while maintaining a streamlined approach to damage assessment in the field.

The training will then be delivered in two phases, comprising a classroom session and a practical exercise in a nearby community.

Participants for this exercise will be from the St George North, South and St Thomas DEOs. (BGIS)
