Bajan men sweet on Guyanese women

IT'S TRUE: Bajan men love Guyanese women.
And Bajan women tend to be somewhat suspicious of Guyanese women.
Just ask Nalini Sukhram, the voice behind GT Advice. Wherever she goes in Barbados, men want to befriend her.
"If I pass a hundred men for the day, 99 want to know my name or want my phone number. I don't know what it is," she said.
Laughing, she added: "If I am leaving and going somewhere, someone wants to take me somewhere. The men are something else. . . Oh my God!"
In contrasts sometimes when she speaks to women, though they answer some "look at you funny", said Nalini, better known as Lisa.
That said, Nalini loves it here and gets on with everybody.
"I have a lot of Bajan friends and I love them to death," she gushed.
As for the song GT Advice which has propelled her into the spotlight, Nalini said so far the reaction to it has been pretty good.
She said: "Guyanese are very supportive. No bad response as yet. I have not heard from anyone as yet, but I know outside of Barbados some people are against it.
"I heard some rumours that the Bajan women kicking up a storm, but no one came and told me anything.
"It is just fun, I would like someone to reply."
Nalini said she knows that there is a reply out, but it is not as strong as she thought it would be.
"I was passing in town last week and I heard the first part, but I haven't heard it in full," she said.
Nalini, who has been here since 2006, preferred not get into the controversy over immigration troubles between Barbados and Guyana. She loves Barbados and Barbadians and has no problem here.
"I have a Bajan boyfriend," she confessed. I love it here. I would love to marry and live here." (SP)

After reading some of these comments i think that all this is just her preference, i am 14 yrs old and when i read all these things it just gets me annoyed, im guyanese but i think this is just her. take a look at the big commotion it started. imagine if we all voiced our opinions. we all need to have an open mind and start changing our mind set. u have no idea what people think the caribbean is like. i live in canada and i told one of my friends that i was from de caribbean, and she asked me of we had internet or gum.. -_-' i think we all need to jus open our minds and be reasonable. unite all de caribbean people and show de world what the CARIBBEAN REALLI IS

Ok , so was this song supposed to humour bajan women? I don't find it very amusing and i'm only half bajan. At the end of the day no one is better than no one. Men will lay down with anything easy going. So don't be fooled singing nonesense about taking people men. Makes you look cheap cause a man that's easily led obviously ain't no good to be with in the 1st place. Lets face it Bajan men would go with ANY female, they don't care where a woman originates from or what colour she might be, and they lie cheat like no other race in this world. I have heard people compare Bajan men to dogs, that's insulting to dogs. There are more Bajan women than men on the island,the men cheat because they know their so called woman will do anything to keep him, and many of ther women go with the men knowing they already have a woman at home, so they are getting just as bad as the men. The island is rife with sexual infections, many go untreated and get passed on continually. Its almost disheartening to read all these comments about preferences and such. We as a Caribbean family must realize that only unity will keep us afloat in this new world. Poor small Barbados and Guyana will never independently become world movers and shakers, such is why we must put aside racial politricks and embrace the diversity that abounds in this diverse Caribbean. On a recent trip to Jamaica, i was rather joyed as i glimpsed at peoples of such diverse origins living as a nation and not blacks, indians, chinese or whites, but as Jamaicans. My mind then thought about Guyana and how race dictates their every way of live, and in a the largest of our caricom partners, they dont even see it. We must learn from Jamaicans to embrace each other, whether black or indian, as one and not live life within these superficial boundaries of race. Its purely a social construct that has done nothing but destroyed our world.

They are using the men to get permanent stay in Barbados and to bring in family members and claim them as their children. Lately I heard some of the men are now catching hell trying to get divorce from them. They leave what they have in Guyana, come with nothing to Barbados and want to claim half of what some of these men have after they marry them. However, I don't blame them because if straight hair and brown skin is what is attracting these men to them, or maybe what my mind cannot conceive - then they deserve to be fleeced.

It is necessary for Bajan women to take over a man's role, because many Bajan men are not fulfilling their roles as men. Most Bajan women have to raise their children as single mothers, for example. Because of that fact, I don't understand why some Bajan women are wasting time worrying about who Bajan men go out with. It's not as if Bajan men do much for them. My advice to Bajan women is to focus on their education and careers. At the end of the day it is those things, not Bajan men, that will best help them get through life. Look I wouldn't get specific about this topic so lets think out of the box a little. right now the immigration issue is at its peak a bit surprise about all the bickering going on. Let's put this into perspective, Barbados is (well so we would like to think) the most religious christian people in CARICOM. Yet we hinder our own image by stooping just for the purpose of negative a fellow human because of the race. If this Nalinie was a black regardless of Guyanese, TT or Bajan you would have heard a lot less criticism. Unlike the low minded comments I have read we are unique and so are guyanese regarless of their economic or political situation. I visited Guyana a lot, Travel from Georgtown, Linden, Berbice and I was amaze how sweetly I was treath by both Blacks and Indians. All these crap you see in the news and blogs on the internet are from racial perverts like SATAN always finds an avenue to provoke our honest mind. In every country (except Barbados, haha) you will always finds those few individual hardcore who always, protest, complaining about victimisation, etc. And for the love of the media the always hit front page and we all imterprets this to be the general attitude of the country (Guyana specifically). I am an honest church oriented Bajan, and for the good of human sake in this Caribbean I have went to Guyana many times and witness with my eyes how nic these people are both blacks & Indian living together. But yet the political commentators, evils individuals and bad media are infiltrating our bajan minds with what they want us to believe. But Surprise we believe in God, and political gimmics and media headlines. So if this Indian Girls sings whatever she is singing and marry a black Bajan man, let her do her thing and enjoy if its good. Remember Rihanna was good so the American accepts her and the world like her art. First, let me say that Bajan women have high standards, are educated and of class and do not stand for foolishness. So the question is, what type of men are calling at these Guynese women? Low standards recognize low standards...hint hint Secondly, Bajan men wake up! You are being used. Take the fun but don't commit and don't leave your undies around or hair in a brush or comb...if you know what I mean. - My uncle (Doe1) dated a Guyanese woman in Bim and she treated him "really well". He ended up marrying her now he is smelling hell and can't get out of the marriage. - My uncle (Doe 2 - other stupid one) married a Guyanese who dated many Bajan men, who used her and never married her, leaving her heart-broken. My "sensible" uncle did and now she controls him. Everything he buys is in her name and he has aged overnight. - A brother from my former church dated this "nice christian lady" from, you know where. He contracted HIV and died from AIDS. She lived on. - A brother who grew up in my husband's church died in Barbados a few years ago after a Guyanese attacked him at work, hitting him in the back of his head. - Some Guyanese Indians are prejudice against Guyanese blacks. - Guyanese Indians don't consider themselves black. I am sure we have some nice Guyanese people out there but I have had enough of the deception.

Anywhere you go give a man something that's different to what he sees everyday and he's going to be all over it either looking or approaching hoping for more. As for the women I can only guess that they see this as well and feel threatened even if it's not the intent.

I'm sure she loves it in Barbados and would marry that guy in a minute.After this she brings her family over to Barbados and then leave him. Maybe we should ask some other West Indians in New york the way these people function. This is not against the black people of Guyana but the indians look out for themselves. Look at the way these people treat the black people of that country and NY. I have friends from Guyana who feel the same way. WAKE UP BAJANS BEFORE IT IS TO LATE

They are no different from men elsewhere. Look at the photo of the person making the comment and take note of the complexion. Somehow, most black men and white men seem to gravitate towards women that look like her because that's their idea of pretty. As for Bajan men liking Guyanese women more, why not? Again, it's the man trying to explore that which he considers new. When they find out that it's not all it appears to be, he comes running right back home.

Nalini was here since 2006,yet still she said she would love to get marry and live here. I thought it was said that she was a legal immigrant. I am so sick of these women thinking they are God gifts to stupid Barbadian men, Wake up men they just want to live in Barbados before moving on to the USA.
